The board--in development for two years--was designed to Macdonald's competition specifications, with the goal of making a "true" skateboard easily accessible to entry-level skaters of a young age. Unlike the inexpensive "toy" skateboards most young first-time skaters purchase, the Zon Mini is extremely responsive to the rider, with professional-grade wheels that roll and grip smoothly. The Zon Mini is made of top-quality North American hard rock maple that's cold-fused using a high-impulse, water-resistant glue in proprietary AirLam presses. The wheels, meanwhile, are composed of high-rebound, hand-cast polyurethane for great roll and grip. Add in professional-quality, cast-aluminum skate bearings with carbon-steel kingpins and axles and high-rebound polyurethane bushings and you have a skateboard that rides beautifully and turns easy and smooth.
